Slack app

The question was asked.
Nobody answered.

TapTap watches the channels you choose, notices when a tagged teammate hasn't replied, and sends them a private nudge — at a reasonable hour, in their own timezone.

Free for one channel, forever. No credit card.

How it works

Three things happen. Two of them are silence.

Most reminder tools work by nagging everybody. TapTap only ever contacts the one person who owes a reply, and only after the window you set has passed.

  1. 01

    Trigger

Tag someone, or drop an ⏳

TapTap watches the channels you pick. An @mention starts a timer for whoever was tagged. An ⏳ reaction starts one for the author and anyone mentioned in the message.

  2. 02

    Wait

    Nothing happens, on purpose

The timer runs quietly for 2, 4, 8, 24 or 48 hours — your choice, per channel. Nobody is pinged, nothing is posted in the channel.

  3. 03

    Nudge

A private DM, at a civilised hour

If they still haven't replied, they get a direct message with the thread, a link, and three buttons. Nobody else sees it.

Why teams keep it installed

Two rules make it safe to leave switched on.

Rule one

Only a real reply clears it

A text reply in the thread, from the person who was tagged, cancels the timer instantly. An emoji reaction does not — because acknowledging something isn't answering it, and everyone knows the difference.

The result: TapTap never nudges someone who already answered you.

Rule two

Never outside working hours

Timers run around the clock, but nudges are only delivered 9am–6pm, Monday to Friday, in the recipient's timezone. Expire at 11pm on a Friday and the nudge waits until Monday at 9.

The result: a distributed team never gets pinged at 3am.

Questions

The things people ask before installing.

Does it post anything in our channels?

No. Every nudge is a private direct message to one person. Nothing is ever posted publicly, and nobody is told that someone was nudged.

What happens if they already replied?

Nothing at all. A reply in the thread cancels the timer immediately, so the nudge is never sent. This is the behaviour we test hardest.

Will it wake someone up?

No. Nudges are only ever delivered between 9am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, in the recipient's own timezone from their Slack profile. A timer that expires on Friday evening waits until Monday morning.

What data do you store?

Message identifiers, a short preview of the triggering message so the DM has context, and the timezone from the profile. We do not archive your conversations, and we never read channels you haven't added.

Can I switch a channel off?

Any time, from the Home tab or with /taptap unwatch. Pending nudges for that channel are cancelled straight away rather than arriving later.

What if someone reacts with an emoji instead of replying?

The nudge still arrives. A thumbs-up isn't an answer, and treating it as one is how these things quietly stop working.

Add it to one channel and forget about it.

That's the honest pitch. You'll notice it when a thread that would have died quietly gets an answer instead.

Takes about a minute. One channel free, forever.
